Curious about the question behind the metric

I’m a Halifax-based data analyst with a computer-science background and an interest in building analytical systems that are both technically reliable and easy to understand.

My work spans business intelligence, analytics engineering, spatial analysis, forecasting, and causal inference. I gravitate to projects where the data is imperfect, the question needs careful thinking, and the final result has to be understood by someone who didn’t build it — a stakeholder, a hiring manager, a teammate.

In practice that means I care as much about the parts of a project that don’t show up in a dashboard: validating an assumption before trusting a result, being honest about what an analysis can and can’t prove, and separating the work I owned from the work a team did together.

Outside conventional analytics problems, I use Formula 1 as a testing ground for forecasting, strategy, and the effect of major rule changes. It’s a domain with clean, well-documented data and real decisions — useful for practising methods I then apply more broadly.
